Overview:

Children born with brain damage such as cerebral palsy are very much limited in their physical and sometime intellectual abilities. Their speech mechanism lacks muscular control thus making their articulation difficult to understand. Some children experience speaking problems as a result of acquired traumatic brain injuries also.

It is a major challenge to teach the above children and young adults to communicate effectively.  Using Augmentative and Alternative Communication they can be trained to understand various concepts and express them through pictures.
