IT Entrepreneurs Development Programme is to establish state-of-the-art IT entrepreneurs training centre for developing highly skilled manpower in the field of open source technology, networking, Internet/Intranet, Relational Database Management System, and Software Development. It is alsoestablish to uplift educated unemployed local youths of Mizoram with special emphasis on software development skill and business communication skills for sustainable self-employment generation through this training programme.The programmehas provided employment opportunities to students who have obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA) from this training centre and help them to get IT jobs within the state and outside the state.
The course structure is divided into three modules such as foundation module, professional module and project module. The total duration of training period is 12 months and 1 month for project assignment. During the training period, the student must complete foundation module comprising of 11 subjects within 6 months time whereas the professional module comprising of network administration, database administration and application development within 6 months. After completion of foundation module and professional module, the student must carry out one project within 1 month in various government departments under the supervision of Department of ICT (formerly known as ICT Cell, Planning Department). At the same time, the student is expected to prepare themselves for appearing International vendor certificate examination. 400 students has been trained form this programme with the financial assistance from NEC, Shillong.
